We wanted new users to get into Skitch for Mac quicker. So with the new 1.0.4 update, we no longer require a skitch.com account right away.

Creating an account to share on skitch.com within the app is fast. The first time you press share in the app, your image is uploaded, you enter your email, password and username… That’s it, you are up and running!

At first it was a simple little red frame that let you screen grab, draw and drag the result as a file. Soon it became a ‘Swiss Army knife’ of image capture, markup and sharing. We realized the general public might like it, and so we released it to the public as a beta.
